Sexual difficulties in adulthood can ofter be traced back to past childhood trauma including shame that ofter accompanies trauma, This workshop will provide a theoretical understanding as well as clinical techniques in working with sexuality concerns of survivors of childhood trauma. Case material will be discussed.

Suzanne Iasenza, PhD is on the faculties of the Adelphi University Derner Institute’s Postgraduate Program in Psychoanalysis, and the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP), where she is Co-Founder of the Sex Therapy Training Program (STP). She also teaches at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and the Family Institute of Westchester. She maintains a private practice in psychotherapy and sex therapy in New York. Her latest book, Transforming Sexual Narratives: A Relational Approach to Sex Therapy recently received an award for exceptional merit from the Society for Sex Therapy and Research.

Scientific Meetings are large public events where renowned analysts from around the country are invited to present papers and clinical material. In addition to the formal presentation, attendees have an opportunity to engage in questions, comments, and discussion with the speaker.
Scientific meetings are held three to five times per year on Saturdays from 9.00am to 12.00pm. Meetings will be held in person with light breakfast served, as well as streamed over Zoom.
Scientific Meetings are open to anyone who has an interest in psychoanalysis. CME’s and CEUs are offered.
