Beginner and Intermediate Clinical Consultation Group Fall

Frequency and Time: This group will meet on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30 and will run for 6 consecutive weeks.
Participants: The group will have a maximum of 6 participants.
Facilitator: Gennifer Lane Briggs, L.C.S.W.
Facilitator Bio: Gennifer Lane Briggs, L.C.S.W.. Gennifer is a psychoanalyst in private practice in the North Kendall/Pinecrest area providing psychoanalysis, psychotherapy and clinical consultation. Her focus is adults, and she practices from an object relations, tow-person perspective. She is an instructor at the Florida Psychoanalytic Center for candidates and psychotherapy students. She also supervises residents at the UM Miller School of Medicine. Gennifer is involved in CAPA, and international group which trains psychotherapist in China, where she teaches and provides analysis to students. Gennifer is also involved in the American Psychoanalytic Association where she has served on numerous committees.
Focus of the Group: This group will discuss the many dynamics during a therapy hour from a psychoanalytic perspective. Issues such as defense, resistance, transference, countertransference, interpretations, and the frame of treatment will be explored. Each group participant will be asked to present a process recording of a session(s) to be discussed during on the sessions. Our group will be a save place to explore what happens during a clinical hour from moment to moment.
