Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course: Winnicott and the Clinical Relationship

This class explores Winnicott’s core contributions as living clinical tools rather that historical theory. Topics will include the holding environment, the true and false self, the capacity to be alone in the presence of another, and the use of the object. Emphasis will be placed on how these concepts translate into concrete clinical decisions-how the therapist’s presence, attunement, and reliability shape what becomes possible in the treatment.
