Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course: Case Presentation: Technique Across the Arc of Psychoanalytic Treatment
Instructor: Gretchen Suarez, L.M.H.C.
This class presents a detailed reading of a clinical case drawn fro the instructor’s board certification portfolio. Students will follow the treatment across the full are, with attentional to how theoretical understanding and clinical technique live together in practice – not in isolated vignettes but across the sustained relationship between patient and therapist over time. The case will serve as a vehicle for examining how core concepts from across the year – listening, countertransference, transference, enactment, rupture and repair – operate in a real complex clinical relationship.
