Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course: Working with Neurodivergent Clients: Technique Considerations for ADHD and ASD

This class addresses the technical adjustments required when working analytically with patients who have ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorder. We will consider how neurodivergent presentations may become apparent across different stages of treatment, how symptoms shape the therapeutic relationship, and where traditional analytic technique may need to accommodate or adapt. The class will draw on clinical case material to explore how analytic work with neurodivergent adults has unfolded over time, with attention to the ways these patients may benefit from and engage differently with the therapeutic frame.
