Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course: Metalization Based Therapy: Technique Dysregulated Patients

This class introduces students to Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) as a structured clinical approach for working with emotionally dysregulated patients presenting with borderline and narcissistic symptoms. Drawing on training through the Anna Freud Center with Peter Fonagy, Anthony Bateman, and Carla Sharp. Dr. Eriksen will present MBT techniques in a way that enriches and extends students’ psychodynamic work. The class will address how MBT concepts – including the mentalizing stance, the stop – rewind – explore technique, and working with the therapeutic relationship – can be integrated into psychodynamic practice.
