Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course: Enactment, Transference, and Difficult Patients

December 5 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
$125.00

Instructors: Meyrav Barak, L.M.H.C.

This class addresses enactment and transference as they arise in the treatment of difficult patients. Drawing on clinical case material, students will examine how enactments emerge, how they can be recognized and metabolized, and what they reveal about the patient’s internal world and the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship. Particular attention will be given to patients whose presentations challenge the therapist’s capacity to maintain the analytic stance –  and what becomes possible when that challenge is met with curiosity rather that reaction.
